Our Continuing Childrens' Courses
In conjunction with SAFE, we will hold two 2-day courses durnig this year
The first day will be used to learn a little about insect life in the river and about
fly-tying and will include fly-casting tuition. It will be followed by a full day fishing
and putting into practice what has been learnt.
Teddy Bears' Picnic
This popular event, sponsored by the Chapter, will be held at the Cottage
on Sunday 13th July from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm.
Entry is free (when accompanied by Teddy). Donations to the Izaak Walton Cottage Chapter.
Several childrens' activities (including Punch & Judy, Bouncy Castle and Face-painting,will take place.
The Cottage
Opening hours in 2008 have now been confirmed by the Borough. It is expected that
they will be similar to those for 2007 which were from the beginning of May to
the end of August on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm with last admissions
at 4:30pm.
During the winter, a local herbalist, Carol Davenport, from Meadow Vale Herbs
at Sildon, Nr. Eccleshall, Stone, Staffordshire, cleaned out the
herb garden preparatory to a new planting for 2008.
We held a very successful Angling and Environmental Fair at the Cottage in
August 2006.
A Country Fair will be held on Sunday 24th August from 11:00 to 4:00 pm
